DIM (Diindolylmethane)
DIM (diindolylmethane) is a compound naturally found in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts that supports healthy estrogen metabolism by promoting the production of beneficial estrogen metabolites over potentially harmful ones. In PCOS management, DIM helps the liver process and eliminate excess estrogen more efficiently while providing anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits, which can contribute to improved hormonal balance and reduced symptoms. Supplemental DIM (typically 100-200 mg daily) offers a concentrated dose that would be difficult to achieve through diet alone, though eating plenty of cruciferous vegetables provides additional fiber and nutrient benefits.
