IUI (Intrauterine Insemination)

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a fertility treatment that places specially washed and concentrated sperm directly into the uterus during the ovulation window, increasing the chances of sperm reaching the egg compared to natural conception. For women with PCOS, IUI is typically combined with ovulation-inducing medications (letrozole or clomiphene) to ensure an egg is available, and this combination can significantly improve pregnancy rates compared to either approach alone. IUI is a less invasive and more affordable intermediate step between medication-only ovulation induction and IVF.
